Jetties on Tioman Island
The Bluewater Ferry is a convenient way to commute to Tioman Island, as it stops at all the major villages along the west coast. They operate in 7 Jetties of Tioman Island:
Genting
It is the first stop from the mainland. Located between Paya and Nipah, it has beautiful beaches, a hilly hinterland and lush tropical rainforest. It offers decent, budget-friendly hotels, chalets, and local restaurants.
Paya
Located on the south-western shore, it is the second ferry stop. Kampung Paya offers spas, restaurants, traditional and visually appealing accommodations equipped with air conditioning and hot water showers. It is an excellent place for scuba diving and short boat rides.
Tekek
This third stop offers duty-free goods and accommodations catering to a range of budgets. Home to dense jungle that offers Rafflesia flowers, breathtaking waterfalls, and a diverse array of flora and fauna. Tekek is an excellent place for snorkelling as well.
ABC (Ayer Batang Chalets)
The fourth stop is considered paradise for backpackers, with Kampung Air Batang offering budget hotels and chalets, as well as laid-back lounging areas around the beaches. Other activities available include jungle treks, hill hikes, and waterfall tours.
Salang
The fifth jetty is Salang, a happening place for the young crowd. The mellow ambient beats, beach bonfire, and pubs playing frequent Jamaican-inspired background music make it one of the best nightlife destinations.
Juara
Juara was voted as the 21st most beautiful beach in the World by CNN. Apart from the sea and beaches, the area features a dense jungle with a river, waterfall, and lagoon.
Mukut
The fishing village of Tiamon is the seventh Jetty in Tioman. The town exudes old-world charm with its untouched natural beauty and traditional way of life.
