Kuala Perlis is a small place in the northwestern end of Peninsular Malaysia, close to the Thailand border. It is the main port of Perlis and the second largest town in this area. The boat jetty here is the connection point to Langkawi island in Malaysia and Phuket, Thailand. The town is famous for the delicious seafood it offers. Some of the mosques and old buildings that are built on swamps are a popular sight. There are opportunities to try kayaking or bird watching in the national park nearby. One of the perks of having Thailand as a border to this state is that you can find cheaper products. Kuala Perlis is a paradise for shopaholics to get products at reasonable rates.
Kuala Perlis serves as the entry point for Langkawi from where the ferries operate to the island destination. The green fields and the forest are its assets that attract tourists.
