Located in central Johor, Kluang is a Malaysian town known for its organic farms. In fact, it is the only district of this state that doesn't have a seafront. It used to be the administrative capital of the state for the British. Founded in 1915, the railway line of the country from north to south was passing through Kluang to help transport labourers and the products by the farmers. These days, the city is well known for the organic farms and ecotourism that attracts tourists. It produces the highest quantity of palm oil in the country. Kluang got its name from the Fruit Bats, found in abundance many years ago.
The city has always been a stronghold for defence forces. It was the administrative capital of Johor during the British Empire and an important location during WWII.
