About KLIA Express

KLIA Express is one of the fastest train services in Southeast Asia and one of the two popular services on the Express Rail Link (ERL) serving the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Malaysia. It connects KLIA, KLIA2 and KL Sentral with one other, making airport transfers very convenient for travellers. The main difference between KLIA Transit and KLIA Express is that the former stops at every station along the line while the latter is a non-stop service between KL Sentral, KLIA and KLIA2.

The distance between KL Sentral and KLIA is 57 KM, which KLIA Express covers in about 28 minutes. The travel time between KLIA and KLIA2 is around 3 minutes.

KLIA Express is operated by Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL), a private limited Malaysian company. The service began in 2002. Later, the service was expanded to include KLIA2 once the terminal opened in 2014. Over the years, ERL has won many awards, with the Travellers’ Choice Award in 2021 being the latest. The company also ensures that they comply with Malaysia’s Environmental Quality Act of 1974.
