If you love waterparks, you have probably seen at least one intimidating video of SplashMania’s towering drops on TikTok. As someone who isn’t a natural thrill-seeker, I was hesitant. But after my friend dragged me along, I had no choice but to take the plunge (spoiler: not the actual Plunge).
So here’s my honest take on whether SplashMania Gamuda Cove lives up to the hype—and how to plan your trip.
The Big Drops: Terrifying But Worth It

The Plunge VS Sumaumeira Drop
Standing at the top of the tower, you face two choices: The Plunge or the Sumaumeira Drop. The staff promised the Sumaumeira was the “less scary” option, so I took his word for it. But even with the tamer choice, I still suffered a glorious, terrifying free-fall. One drop was enough adrenaline for my day. But if you have nerves of steel, step up and conquer both.
SplashMania Rides That Deliver Pure Fun
You don’t have to be an extreme adrenaline junkie to get your money’s worth. Once my heart rate settled, we hit the rest of the park. Here are the must-try rides for every comfort level.
Aqua Swirl & Spill & Thrills

These two Thrill Adventures are the perfect follow-up to the massive Plunge or Sumaumeira Drop. Personally (and after consulting staff about a more fun ride), Spills & Thrills is more enjoyable, but here’s the best strategy: try both, but go on the one with the shorter queue first. This is the best way to save time and make the most of your visit.
Monsta & Twista

Monsta & Twista fall under Family Adventures. They are less intense than the previous ones but still incredibly fun, especially when riding with a group (3–5 people). While riding one is great, both slides are worth your time if the lines are short. Just keep in mind that to ride these, you need to climb the stairs again each time.
Twin Turbo & Curl & Swirl

Next on the list are more Family Adventures: Twin Turbo, Curl & Swirl (and Typhoon Terror but it was closed when we visited). Twin Turbo swings and steadies your raft, while Curl & Swirl drops and spins you through the water. Try both to get the full spectrum of SplashMania’s family-friendly thrills.
Whoopa Loopa, Rush Havoc & Shaka Waka

If you come in pairs, these slides are made specially for you. Get the double tube for these fast and thrilling enclosed water slides. Each one of them offers a unique twist—from vibrant visual and sound effects to translucent tubes and tight loops. Having someone scream behind you definitely takes the edge off the fear. No need to pick and choose. If you have the time and energy, why not just ride all three?
Maniac Racers

Sitting at the same table as the Plunge and Sumaumeira Drop, Maniac Racers is also another Extreme Adventure for those who want to experience another adrenaline rush. It lets you slide side-by-side with your friends to see who reaches the bottom first.
Treasure Towers

This multi-lane slide brings out your competitive side. It’s built for kids, but let’s be honest—it’s actually made for your inner child. Climb the splashing stairs, slide down the body slides, and wait under the water bucket for its waterfall.
The Verdict: Absolute Hit
SplashMania delivers exactly what it promises: intense thrills, massive laughs, and an unbeatable way to escape the Malaysian heat. Whether you want to test your limits on the Sumaumeira Drop or just race your friends on the Maniac Racers, the park builds an atmosphere of pure fun. It is 100% worth the hype.
Ready to Ride? Skip the Ticketing Lines
The only thing worse than chickening out of a waterslide is standing in a massive ticket queue in the blazing sun. Secure your spot before you arrive. Book your SplashMania tickets directly through redBus to lock in your entry, bypass the ticketing line, and head straight for the water. Even better, get a discount when you enter this coupon code at checkout!
