The passenger seating area is generously spacious, air-conditioned, and features LCD screens showcasing bus schedules. Additionally, restrooms are provided for the convenience of all passengers, including facilities for men, women, and individuals with special needs are at all levels.
To provide passengers with real-time updates, additional LCD screens have been strategically placed throughout the Penang bus terminal. These screens display vital information, including the bus operator's name, trip number, departure time, destination, platform number, and the status of the bus trip, whether it has already departed or is experiencing a delay.
Penang Sentral Directory
The facilities inside the Penang Sentral bus terminal are spread on multiple levels. Lets check out the main highlights at each level of the bus terminal -
Level 1
Level 1 has a bus service area and serves as the bus platforms for all express and local buses with pickup and drop-off, police assistance, restrooms, etc. The area for express buses and local stage coaches are separate.
Level 2
Level 2 is wheelchair accessible and consists of an information desk, taxi services, ticket counters for buses and taxis, and other facilities. Level 2 also connects to the KTM train station and ferry terminal linkway.
Shops, Prayer Room (Surau), Luggage Lockers, and ATM are also present on Level 2 of the bus terminal.
Level 3
The Main Entrance/Drop-off Area is also at Level 3 and this also serves as drop-off points for taxis, cabs and personal cars. You can find some shops, and food court at Level 3 of the Bus Terminal.
Level 6-9
The car parking is spread across Level 6 to 9.

How to Reach Penang Sentral Bus Terminal ?
Penang bus station is well connected by roads and can be reached by different modes of transport.
How to Reach Penang Bus Station by Taxis and Cabs
Cabs and taxis from all parts of Penang reach Level 2 of the Butterworth bus terminal. Take the escalator downwards to level 1 to board your bus. The fare on these may be higher than on trains and buses.
How to Reach by Trains
Being a major transportation hub, you can also reach Penang Sentral via trains. Catch the KTM train line from the city to reach the bus terminal. Cross to the bus station from level 2 to get to the pickup area for your buses.
- By LRT? Take the Kelana Jaya line and change to the Ampang line at Masjid Jamek Station. Then, change again to the Sri Petaling line at Chan Sow Lin Station. From there, you can take the KLIA Transit to reach the bus terminal.
- By KTM Komuter? Take the KTM Komuter to KL Sentral. From KL Sentral, you can take the KLIA Transit to reach Penang Sentral bus terminal.
- By KLIA Transit? Take the KLIA Transit from KL Sentral to Bandar Tasik Selatan. From there, you can take the LRT to reach KL Sentral. Then, take the KTM Komuter to reach Penang Sentral Bus Terminal.
How to Reach Penang Sentral by Bus
Local and express buses reach Penang bus station, so you will have no difficulty reaching here from the city. The drop-off area is the same for all buses, but the pickup point will differ for local and long-distance buses. Bus from Penang Sentral to Georgetown local buses will have their pickup point on one side of the terminal, while long-distance buses from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca or Bus from KL Sentral to Penang will be from the other.
How to Reach Penang Sentral by Personal Vehicle
Parking space at the Penang Sentral bus terminal is on level 3, open to the public. You may park your private vehicle here and board your bus to your destination. Parking charges will be calculated on an hourly basis. Overnight parking is also available here.
Parking Information at Penang Sentral
The parking fee at the bus terminal varies depending on the duration of the parking period. The parking fee can be paid starting at Level 6 until 9.
The parking charges are as follows -
- For the first 2 hours or part thereof : RM3.00
- For subsequent hours or part thereof : RM1.00 per hour
- Maximum daily charge: RM10.00
- Lost ticket and clamping penalty : RM 50.00
- First 30 minutes drivethrough : FREE
